Sending love and healing light your way, Karen. I have multiple chronic illnesses as well. They are all intertwined with our emotions, unresolved issues, etc, as you mentioned. I am always listening to what my body has to teach me about me. It's amazing.
“I believe that many health issues are not just the result of unhealthy lifestyles and toxins but also the result of unresolved stress and trauma, unhealthy patterns of being, living in a toxic environment or with toxic people, suppressing emotions and repressing our true selves.” I’m with you on this. I pushed through and pushed through life, and wasn’t even aware there was permission to practice self care until chronic inflammation, gut pain, and the loss of most of my hair from a rare form of alopecia got my attention.
I resonate with you when you write of your journey, even as you fight against yourself for taking care of what needs to be taken care of when it comes to food choices, exercise, and rest. If I were writing something I wanted published now, I would not stop either. Even if I knew (and I do know) my words will form better if I rest and recoup.
I’ve made great strides in the past few years, and thankfully, I am healing. My gut is healing. My emotions are honored. And I have more energy and lose fewer days to pain and brain fog.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Not only do they resonate with others, I believe they will give hope and direction to others.
Thank you so much for sharing Sally. I am so glad you're feeling better bit by bit. I was really torn about sharing this but already feel less alone. 💜. Would you like to share what's helped you? You don't have to of course. ☺️
My gut problems were basically resolved two years ago when on December 6, 2021, I had a sigmoid colon resection surgery to remove a part of my constantly inflamed small colon that was the result of reoccurring diverticulitis. I also was diagnosed with visceral hypersensitivity in my gut, and once I knew the source of my pain (I.e. knowing it had a name.) I could relax, not panic when having it, and rest. Also, a pacemaker was life changing because I knew why my heart had rhythm problems, and that it was now less erratic because of the pacemaker. The bottom line: I found excellent doctors, who listened, believed me, understood I live in a hypersensitive body, and helped me find the specialists who could help me. Also, I learned to honor my unique body by listening to her in ways that didn’t cause me to become anxious.
That is such a blessing to get to the point of knowing what's going on, having some understanding of it and being able to relax. Being able to relax so the body can heal. Along with having doctors you can trust of course. 💜

Oh welcome back Pamela. I hope you are making a good recovery. 💜🙏💜
Thanks Karen. A little stronger everyday. A few more steps everyday. 💙
