The purpose of life
is not to live
happily ever after.
Not to dodge, push away or suppress unpleasant experiences.
Not to not feel.
Not to please everyone else except yourself.
Not to be working out what your supposed to be doing with it, in accordance with everyone else's beliefs, thoughts, actions, wishes, or desires.
Not to compare yourself to others.
Not to please your mum, dad, sister, brother, aunty, uncle, friend colleague, boss society, religion, culture or government.
Not to bend over backwards for eternity righting things you thought you did wrong out of guilt.
Beating yourself up when things go wrong.
As they will.
It’s not about making others right and yourself wrong.
Or about making others wrong and yourself right.
It's not even about being kind and helping others all the time
- especially at your own expense.
No.
The purpose of life is noticing, discovering or recovering what lights you up.
What makes your heart sing.
What makes you want to do a happy dance.
What fills your cells with vibrancy.
What nourishes and nurtures your flourishing.
What makes you want to get up in the morning.
What makes you smile an inner smile.
AND…
To feel everything.
Every human emotion.
Pleasant.
Unpleasant.
Neutral.
To let those emotions be fully felt, expressed, flow through…
To experience everything that comes your way
and know you’re going to be okay.
You’re going to be okay.
You are okay.
The purpose of life is whatever you CHOOSE it to be.
Choose wisely.
Feel it in your body.
Choose for yourself.
