Dear Lovely You,
the squirrels that raid and trash our bird feeders have no problem demanding what they want and taking it. They don’t flinch when I open the door. They eventually go tanking off up the wall and into the tree if I get really close to them, only to return as soon as they hear the door click shut. They are consistently persistent.
And that’s how we need to be. Consistently Persistent little critters filling our Souls up until it can settle unconcerned and filled up to its own satisfaction.
I choose words carefully because words are like spells.
They live all around us and inside us.
We often take them in unconsciously but whether we are conscious of them or not, they still have power.
I wanted a way of connecting with you in a shorter written piece each week that would help you Reconnect with yourself. Your True Self. With your Essence.
Why nurture?
Why nourish?
Why nudges?
This is what these words mean to me.
Nurture
To nurture is to coax and encourage your nature, your True Self, your Essence into Being.
To blossom.
It’s like tending to a sunflower, though it also needs space.
Nurturing is kind, accepting and loving.
It gives your True Nature the encouragement and space to flourish.
It says, I love you just as you are and invites continued expansion.
And it allows you to turn your head to the sun.
Nourish
To nourish is to allow yourself, your True Self, your Essence, to Receive.
It’s creating the environment to thrive.
Watering the sunflower and removing the weeds.
It’s to indulge yourself in the things that feed you. That feed your Soul.
It’s remembering who you are and what makes you feel grounded AND alive.
It’s being with the things or people that fill you up.
It’s taking the daily actions that you love and enjoying the doings you need to do.
It’s noticing and engaging with the things that make you feel an inner Yumminess! and say - I love that!
To Nurture and Nourish is to encourage and allow you to Connect to your Spirit and let it shine through.
To be Fully Expressed.
Nudges
Think of Nudges like a mischievous friend elbowing you gently.
Silently saying, go on, be You. Express yourself. I love you.
Nudges are like permission slips to Be You until you eventually feel safe enough to not need them any more. To trust yourself.
To trust your Essence, your gut, your intuition because you are so Connected to it.
But when you waiver, Nudges are also there to remind you and allow you to lift yourself up. To Re-Connect.

I loved wandering into your garden.
Your line, "Words are like spells," stayed with me, and then the squirrels quietly cast one of their own.
It struck me that they have no idea they're raiding a bird feeder. They don't hold that label. For them it's simply a hanging container full of delicious things.
The moment I noticed that, "raiding" softened into "being a squirrel", consistently persistent and honouring its own true nature.
